No-news Throne Speech opens shortened 'lame duck' Legislative session

VICTORIA - The week-long session that opened at the legislature today is an odd one. The speech from the throne got things going, but with both parties in the process of picking new leaders, the government's agenda right now is to have "no agenda" at all. The opposition's calling it a lame-duck session but by law it had to happen.

Press TV-News Analysis-US Terrorist Alert for EU-05-10-2010 (Part 3)

The United States government has issued a warning to its citizens traveling in Europe citing fears of terror attacks in major European cities. The warning, posted on the State Department's official travel advisory website, did not name any specific countries but security sources have named cities in Germany, France, and the UK. The travel alert warned US citizens that they were being "reminded of the potential for terrorists to attack public transportation systems and other tourist infrastructure." The United States claims that the alleged plot is planned by al-Qaeda in a bid to justify the increasingly unpopular war in Afghanistan and cross border attacks on Pakistan. Navid Ahmadi, Gareth Porter and Eugene Dabbous are our guests in this edition of Press TV's News Analysis.
